Squash
All varieties of squash can be sorted into two main types: summer and winter. Summer squash produce more fruit than winter squash and will start producing earlier in the season. Summer squash is tastiest when harvested young while the skin is still tender and the seeds inside are still immature. Winter squash are often not ready for harvest until the end of the season, and many types will store very well so they can be eaten in the winter. The fruits are generally larger with hard skin. We have an assortment of both types growing this year.
